Temporary order suspension to USA from FRIDAY 22ND AUGUST 12PM followed by new tariffs. See this post for information.

Tariffs on orders going to the USA (de minimis removal)

Tariffs on orders going to the USA (de minimis removal)

The $800 "de minimis" threshold will soon be removed in the USA. We'll be implementing some changes and hopefully the disruption will be minimal!

Below is what it'll mean to customers in the US:

❗ The "de minimis" threshold will no longer apply from 29 August 2025. From that date, tariffs will apply on imports to the US.

❗ We will temporarily not accept US orders from noon 22nd, because we don't want packages sent just before the date to then be caught with "unpaid tariffs" if they arrive just after 29 August. (There are promises of how this will not happen but we've been burned before when the EU went through tax changes.)

❗ We will keep a close eye on the development and start accepting US orders again as soon as we can but right now we cannot promise a date.

❗ When we start accepting orders going to the US again, there will be a tariff added to the order when you checkout.

❗ The amount of tariff depends on the product origin (country of manufacture rather than country of shipping).

❗ Much of our products are made in China so the tariff will be 30%, but this can change depending on trade talks.

❗ You will not be able to opt-out of paying tariff upfront.

❗ The tariff we collect will be paid to US Customs. Your package will arrive showing as tariff paid, and it will be delivered as normal.

❗ But please expect teething issues, EU has a similar scheme and very occasionally they'll scan a package and not see the prepaid tax.

❗ We will temporarily remove the UPS shipping option as we figure out how things work with them. We will continue to use Royal Mail to post packages out. These packages are handled by USPS when they get to the US.

❤️ Please be kind to small businesses trying to navigate the situation. We can't afford professional advice, the instructions we get are often unclear, details seem to be changing all the time and it's frustrating for everyone.
